The CEPR coordinates a first delegation of European Parliamentarians to Kuwait
The Council for European Palestinian Relations (CEPR) coordinated a first delegation of European Parliamentarians to visit the state of Kuwait from April 3-6, 2011. The delegation had high-level meetings with His Royal Highness, the Emir of Kuwait, the Speaker of the Kuwaiti Parliament, Kuwait’s Prime Minister and the Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs. The delegation also met with Kuwaiti political parties and local NGOs.
Dr. Arafat Shoukri, the CEPR Director, claims this was “an important delegation to Kuwait. The meetings provided an opportunity to exchange views on the role that Europeans and Kuwait can play in the restoration of Palestinian rights, based on justice and peace for the Palestinian people.”
Delegates included:
Sir Gerald Kaufman – MP
Jeremy Corbyn – MP
Pat Breen – TD
Chris Andrews – TD
Dr. Arafat Shoukri – CEPR Director
Mazen Kahel – Representative, CEPR
The CEPR is honored to have coordinated the successful visit of this first delegation and looks forward to further work and closer ties with its European and Kuwaiti counterparts.
