In February 2013, the Council for European Palestinian Relations (CEPR) organised a fact
finding delegation to Lebanon. The objective of this mission was to assess the impact of the
Syrian crisis on Palestinian refugees. During this visit, the delegation carried out discussions with key members of the Lebanese Government, met with EU and Palestinian representatives in Lebanon, visited refugee camps, and were briefed by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
Lebanon hosts around 455,000 Palestinian refugees, and has received an additional 30,000 Palestinians fleeing from the violence in Syria. This report highlights the core findings of the delegation, and outlines what actions need to be taken by the EU and its member states to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.
